Tuzer dance Center General Policies

DANCE ATTIRE/HAIR

Ballet Girls:

• Black (non-shiny) tank leotard (no sleeves, camisoles, decals, prints, halters, criss-cross strap designs or tutu/skirt attachments).
• Pink (non-shiny) tights. No holes or runs and tights must be footed and worn inside the ballet shoe.
• Pink leather ballet slippers that have elastic sewn across the foot.
• Black alignment belt. Available for purchase at front desk.
• No skirts, leg warmers or over garments.
• Hair in a very neat “ballet bun” with an invisible hair net or crocheted bun cover. Short hair should be secured with a headband and all bangs pinned away from the face. Dancers will not be able to participate in class with messy hair. Dancers must in a neat ballet hairstyle.
• No jewelry (except small earrings) or watches, and no long or colored nails!

Pre-Ballet/Tap Girls:

• Pale pink (non-shiny) short-sleeved leotard (no decals, prints, halters, criss-cross strap designs or tutu/skirt attachments).•
• Pink (non-shiny) tights. No holes or runs.
• Pink leather ballet slippers that have elastic sewn across the foot. Black tap shoes for tap classes.
• Short pale pink dance skirt.
• Hair in a very neat “ballet bun” with an invisible hair net or crocheted bun cover. Short hair should be secured with a headband and all bangs pinned away from the face. All hair must be neat in order to participate in ballet classes.
• No jewelry (except small earrings) or watches, and no long or colored nails!

Boys/Ballet:

• White, tight-fitting crew neck T-shirt
• Black tights or shorts. No baggy pants
• Thin white socks and white leather ballet slippers that have elastic sewn across the foot
• Dance belts for upper levels.

Lyrical Jazz/Modern Impressions:

• Any style or color leotard. Must be tight-fitting
• Tights or leggings
• No baggy apparel
• Barefoot or Foot Undies or Dance Paws
• Hair in ponytail

Jazz:

• Same as above for Lyrical Jazz– except also need black jazz shoes. 

Tap:

• Same as above for Lyrical Jazz, also need flat, black tap shoes
• No street clothes • Hair in ponytail.
