Suzelle Poole

As a child, Mrs. Poole achieved Cecchetti grades under English ballet teachers. She professionally danced under the direction of Celia Franca and Betty Oliphant in opera, ballet, radio and pantomime and performed in an award-winning film. Suzelle Poole danced as soloist of the Houston Ballet under the director Madame Tatiana Semenova, pupil of Mathilde Kchessinska. She became her assistant teaching children six to eleven years old at the Houston Ballet Academy. After eight years, she returned to England attending professional ballet classes in London and continued dancing professionally with well-known artists. After moving to South Africa, Madame Poole lectured on music pedagogy at the University of Cape Town.  She also holds an Associate Montessori International Diploma and was Director of a noted Montessori School in South Africa. Currently, Mrs. Poole continues to teach, choreograph, coach and often dances with her students as volunteers at nursing homes with her Poole Ballet. She teaches all levels of classical dance, from preschool through professional divisions.
