MEET THE INSTRUCTOR

DIRECTOR / INSTRUCTOR
Jasmine de LaCruz Simpson

Jasmine de LaCruz Simpson Born in the Philippines and raised in Dallas, Jasmine has been active all her life. Enrolled in dance at the age of three, she studied classical ballet at Tuzer Dance Center in Richardson. At Ursuline Academy, she was introduced to musical theater and fell in love with the “roar of the crowd.” Jasmine soon found herself on the football field cheering on the Jesuit Rangers.  Continuing into collegiate cheerleading, a knee injury forced her to the coaching side where she honed her choreography skills and produced many creative, high-energy routines on and off the court. Realizing she had a knack for instructing and coaching, in 2001 she became a certified fitness instructor through AFAA and began teaching dance and fitness professionally, specializing in hip hop aerobics, kickbox aerobics, Pilates mat, PiYo, strength training and aqua aerobics. Jasmine is certified by AFAA for group fitness instruction and personal training, FitTOUR for Pilates Mat and stability ball, Kaiser for indoor cycling, SCW Fitness for pre- and post-natal personal training, 24 Hour Fitness for PiYo, Reebok Core Board, YogaFIT, Nike Rockstar (with Jamie King), Zumba™, and Moms In Motion. On several occasions, Jasmine has been asked to produce elaborate wedding choreography and has been a featured instructor at venues such as the Toyota Triathlon, White Rock Lake Earth Day and Relay for Life. You can also see Jasmine’s work onstage at Repertory Company Theater, most recently “Spamalot,”  “Legally Blonde, The Musical” and “Seven Brides for Seven Brothers.”
